Villian is 62/5/3 after about 50 hands

I've got the A/images/graemlins/heart.gif and the K/images/graemlins/heart.gif is on the board, so I thought it less likely that villian had a flush draw. However, he's so loose he could easily be playing something like J/images/graemlins/heart.gifT/images/graemlins/heart.gif and his actions certainly seem like he's chasing.

His range could be any flush, any pair, and any bluff. Your river check induces a bluffing opportunity, so I'd probably call and not enjoy it.

Do you think I should have bet the river? I was aware that the river check looked weak, but I'm not terribly confident at this point... I've still only got one pair /images/graemlins/frown.gif

Any suggestions as to how I could have played this better, or did I just run into a bad situation?

Depending on your opponent here. Sometimes checking to induce a bluff works better; however, you may also get pushed off your hand. My play here is to bet $2 on the river. He wouldn't raise here without having you beat unless he is a habitual bluffer. Looking at his stats, though, he may be more likely to bet this river than to call it, and he'll probably bet hands you beat that he would have folded to a bet.

Sorry, to summarize, I would check for a bluff here.

That seems to be implying a fold. Personally, I think you should call and then curse the gods when he turns over a flush or two pair. You're probably beat, but you only have to win about 2/7 of the time to break even, and the point of checking is to induce a bet from hands you beat rather than scaring them away.

Thanks for the input everyone /images/graemlins/smile.gif I ended up calling and villian showed 9/images/graemlins/heart.gif8/images/graemlins/heart.gif. I was tempted to fold the river (AA has been a cursed pocket pair for me of late) but like you said, the pot odds aren't terrible.
