You can't call that flop bet. You have to raise it. At the very least, it lets you check behind if a scare card falls on the turn. By calling, you set yourself up to have the pot taken away because you have no idea where you're at.

what were u expecting to hit with KQs ? straight ? flush? two pair?

if you cant raise with top pair you shouldnt be calling raises with KQs cuz thats about what ur gunna hit everytime

Well, it sounds like villian is fairly tight, so you are behind his range, so if you want to play this hand, you want to outflop him. so you are not looking to hit the king or queen, but more hoping for the draw.

I prefer calling here with smaller connectors, where the chance of dominance is smaller.

Also you might want to 3bet if you wish to play .... nothing wrong with calling at all, but 3 betting comes into consideration. (I prefer smaller connectors though)

Just calling the flop bet allows me to keep the pot small and keep my opponent betting a worse hand (either bluffing or what he thinks is for value). By raising the flop, I pretty much fold out all hands that I beat and let him play his better hands perfectly.
