[/ QUOTE ]Which temple, if it is the tmeple I'm thinking of it's the 2nd coming of christ. If it is the other temple, it's about christ providing the new law. Now that I see 70th AD i have no idea.

Like I said, Im kinda retarded in this class.

The Temple was in Jerusalem, it was destroyed by the Romans in 70 AD.

I think Jesus said something like "...blah blah blah, no rock will be left unturned....blah blah blah" while talking about the temple /images/graemlins/smile.gif

If jesus said something (as in: he was still alive) during it's destruction, it had in my guess something to do with him providing the new law.

around 30AD Jesus said

"Do you see these great buildings? Not one stone will be left here upon another; all will be thrown down"

Jesus was then crucified.

In 70 AD the temple was destroyed

totally changed the jews relationship to god as after destruction they switched from animal sacrifice to prayer.

Could I say it symbolized the split between the Jews and Christians?

I don't think christianity had taken off very much 40 years after christ's death.

I think his exact words were, "blah blah blah yada yada yada blah blah yada blah yada yada blah blah blah".

If you really want to get to the core -

the destruction of the Temple was pretty much the ending of Jewish residence in the region for 1900 years - the Jews were forbidden from re-entering Jersualem, and Christianity was forced out of that general area and into the rest of the world,

The first Christians were Jewish and until near the end most of the First Christians and the leadership were in and around Jerusalem and that's where a few of the apostles set up shop and were doing their work.

for lack of a better word, it helped to jumpstart Christianity by forcing the church out of Jerusalem and into the rest of the world.

I wouldn't say that's necessary the EFFECT of the destruction of the temple, but it is the culmination of a Jewish Rebellion vs. Rome that resulted in the exile of the Jewish people from Palestine for about 1900 years.
