Party Poker gift certificates

what is up with these things, how do they work? I'm a US resident and when party shut us out they said the store would remain open to us and we could use our points whenever so i just sat on mine. Now there is this gift certificate thing and I can't get access to the store and don't know how to use the gift certificate thing.

in the store I see 3 different options:

- GC
- cash
- freeroll ticket

Just buy a GC and redeem it yourself - I have done this several times already -
