I just ended a session in which I play well and ran well; it's been forever. I have two hands from the session that I think I played well, although I just want to get some feedback to make sure:

In this hand, UTG was running 24.1/5.6/5 over 54 hands and the Button was running 30.6/3/4.5 over 49 hands. Both players had been pretty quiet at the table and I had never seen a 3-bet from the Button. Because of both of their low PFR percentages, I assumed they both held monsters and more importantly that UTG was possibly reraising because he had not made a raise in such a long time. If I only make my set 1/8 times (assuming I make my set "safely" and set over set), is it worth calling to hit here if I fold any non-set flop?

Button $8.18.
SB $51.08.
Hero (BB) $33.78.
UTG $23.99.

Preflop: Hero is BB with 9/images/graemlins/heart.gif9/images/graemlins/club.gif

UTG raises to $.50. Button re-raises to $1.85. SB folds. Hero folds.

OK, next hand. I finally picked up a big hand in position on a LAG player (, but the board was so wet that I think I have to fold out. Is my call on the turn correct, or is this not worth it? I should probably add that I had a note taken on this player that he bets out his made flushes fast and strong when he hits, just as he did in this spot.

1. Fold, no.
2. He came alive when the flush hit. I call the turn but fold the river

Hand 1: you have no IO from Button. If UTG were a station I call and hope to stack two foes. But given his stats there's a good chance he'll fold, or worse yet, come over the top of both of you. Good fold.

Hand 2: Looks standard through the turn. You very well may be drawing dead here, but you very well may have good redraws, and there's the possibility you're still ahead. I like the call. Spiking an off-suit J on the river could get expensive, as I think I'd have to call a bet on the end, so I'm hoping for a /images/graemlins/spade.gif not a J. Fold when you whiff and he keeps pushing. NH.
