Do I have to call here? It certainly smells like I'm beat

Stndard. If he bets more than half the pot on the river I'm probably folding.

This is what I was thinking as well. I guess I'm just going through some variance and starting to question my calls when it seems clear I am beat.

When he min raises you on the turn I think you're probably beat. But when he only bets 1/2 pot, he's giving you 3-1, so you only have to be right 25%.

Yes this was my thinking at the time, but now I question what hands would he do this with that I can beat? It seems KJ or a PP are the only things I can beat now and are they going to bet 1/2 the pot on the river?

Hank is right one here, you only have to be right 25% of the time to make this profitable. Why cant he have another K besides with the J?

I think your line is good here.

I just haven't seem many people calling the raise here with a weaker kicker (maybe a T) at this site.

The problem I see here is the check/miniraise on the turn. That is a strange way to play a hand like KJ. After the river call, you have put in 4/5 of your stack with TP. I don't play .5/.10 so you have to decide what that check/miniraise meant on the turn. I don't mind a river fold if the table was playing passive.
