I'll be going to Vegas soon and intend on playing some decent tourneys. I heard there is a form I should fill in prior to this for tax purposes but can't find out what it is, can anybody fill me in?

Overall, what is the deal with tax for a UK player in the US. Is there something significant about $10000? Also say I won more than that, can I just get the casino to wire it to my bank and do I need to declare it? I really have no clue so any advice/information is appreciated.

You will need an ITIN number:

http://www.irs.gov/individuals/article/0,,id=96287,00.html

With one of these you don't pay US tax as a UK citizen as there is a tax treaty between the countries. Do get the number set up in advance, and make sure the casino(s) you are playing at know you have one and have it registered against you.

Disclaimer: Haven't done this myself but know people who have.
