Does this have anything poker related either directly or in policy direction of the country? I know this seemed full steam ahead just a short time ago.


American Banker: A Treasury Department effort to require banks to report international wire transfers to the government is faltering before it ever gets off the ground. The program has lost its top political and regulatory patrons.

This was discussed in some other threads here and in the zoo. Basically they said like 3 years ago it would take 3 years to implement if it could be implemented tech wise, and now 3 years later they are still at square one.

Just goes to show you that, even with Bush in charge, our interests intersect to some extent with the fat cats who have the administration's ear.

I don't know any of the details, but if this is accurate it seems like a very good thing.
