Uggh..

I tried opening an account at Sportsbook.com poker after recieving an e-mail inviting the paradise players BACK.

After entering my DC address and hitting submit, I get this message:

We are sorry, but we are not allowed to accept transactions from the state that you selected in the registration form

I called customer service and they confirmed that they can't open an account from my jurisdiction....

What gives? What's the truth?

I have opened many many accounts here in DC without issue previously.

Washington D C is not a State. But, I'm sure they think that you are from the State of Washington. E-mail them and explain the difference.

I just sent them this e-mail making them aware of this thread, I hope they respond:

********************

Hello, I'm writing this to inform you that during the sign-up process, your software erroneously lists Washington, DC as a restricted state.........this is an error.

Washington STATE is a restricted jurisdiction NOT Washington, DC which is not in any way connected to or with Washington STATE..........in fact they are located thousands of miles apart from each other.

I am in DC and have many many sportsbook and poker accounts and yours is the ONLY one to have made this very obvious error.

I brought this error to the attention of the legislative forum on the poker website 2+2..........please use the link below to see the thread.

Thank you.

No response at all from their customer service.........

They just don't consider this important I guess.

I would be careful putting funds into a sportsbook with such "dumb" management.

We are always here to help you. Please feel free to reply to this email if you have any additional questions in relation to this or any other matter.

Are you being serious?

I of course selected DC in the dropdown.

Also, when I called customer service on the first night that I tried registering, the manager on duty expressly said that DC is a banned state.

They are run by incompetent morons.

So, what state ARE you in? This is where you say either Virgina or Maryland, and proceed from there.

Well I ultimately made an account using my legit VA address but that is sooo not the point here.

Doubtful I ever fund it again though with such dreadful service.
