View Full Version : Team PokerStars response to US online poker

Despite recent matters our position remains the same; PokerStars will
continue to offer its services to players from the US. You may play on our
site as you did prior to the recent developments. This new legislation is
not aimed at players and does not change the legality of playing online poker.

We would like to reassure you that all funds held with PokerStars are
completely secure. Player deposits are held in a separate bank
account so that they remain completely isolated from all other aspects
of the business.

We will be introducing new deposit options for players in the coming weeks
and will be sure to email you with any developments in that regard. If for
whatever reason we did not offer services to players any longer you would be
able to spend your FPP points regardless.

If there is anything further that we can help you with please let us know.

Best Regards,

PokerStars Support Team

Hey everyone, this email seems as if they are going to open up their own deposit options like a neteller which would make it okay by this legislation. This email really boasts confidence that the site is not going under this week. Hope we don't have to panic as much, give me your thoughts on this email response.

But the SKY IS FALLING DAMMIT! /images/graemlins/mad.gif

Typical professional, reasonable response from Pokerstars. I expected nothing less, and expect nothing less in the near future. /images/graemlins/grin.gif

Thought #1: I hope johnnyrocket didn't write this himself.

Thought #2: I don't expect Stars to go anywhere anyway, because they are poker site, not a gambling site. Stars will be the last to go away IMO.

Thought #3: If this turns out to be true, and Stars creates a PokerTeller like we discussed before, I will whip out my [censored] and rub one out.

NH Stars??

It's a couple of paragraphs from different templates and some joining words. It's all accurate so far as I know (though I don't work in support anymore)

Would they offer PokerTeller to other sites as well? That could be another cash cow. If so I would assume that PokerTeller would only fund sites that were poker only.

This information is all real as someone questioned it, I would not mess with my fellow 2+2ers cuz I want to stay playing online as much as everyone else does. And yes the pokerteller thing is a solution that they said they are working behind the scenes on. This response was sent to me last night. I wrote an email to support asking about FPP and if US players would not be able to use them if this happpened since I have lots, and I decided to ask on this issue to see if they could give me a response and this is what they gave me.

OP asked pokerstars about FPP's if they do not serve the us. This was their response. nothing unexpected there.

It refers specifically to the question that he asked pokerstars. He emailes to ask about whether they were closing to u.s. and whether he could use his FPP points if they did.

Nothing to read into there.

Agreed, of the sites left to US players UB& Absolute have BJ, Bodog has a casino and sportsbook, WPX is part of WSEX
looks like Poker Stars and Full Tilt are the only major exclusively poker sites left to americans.
