It can no longer be doubted that the actual goal, practical or not, is to eliminate American I-gaming altogether, probably followed by a push against the land-based gambling that already exists.

Chilling and increasingly plausible.

Interesting article. I enjoyed reading, and it does instill a bit more security into my thoughts on this muddy situation.

This is a good article. When change happens people come up with all kinds of crazy reasons, but there's a simple reason why we have been attacked. It's because Frist and the Administration thought gambling was evil and they wanted to appeal to some of their constituents.

It's not because casinos pushed for this (whether they know it or not, online poker is good for their poker business), or because money was flowing out of the country, or any other wild theories people put forward.

Online poker isn't going away, and in five years it will be a bigger global business than it is today.

Thanks for posting this.

Even though it doesn't change anything, makes me feel better.

And between the Neteller mess, an ice storm, and subsequent leaky roof /images/graemlins/frown.gif really needing something to feel better. (preferably something that doesn't involve hangovers.)

Opinions are like (blank), everyone has one.

Sorry I wasted my time on that article. It's just absurd how many people can just write useless crud over and over again on this piece of anti-gaming legislation, throwing their opinions around like frisbee's and offering no real sound facts.

Who cares?

No offense OP.

Why would a political rant from Martin Owen, devoid of legal analysis, make us feel better ?

I've met Mr. Owen; fortunately, his legal analytic skills rank higher than his political acumen.

He is trying to market his legal services by writing a motivational speech ?
