I think I figured it out. It looks like the government gets anywhere from 8% to 20% of a normal casino operation's gross income. That's a pretty goddarned substantial taxation.

They've found a new way to fund the war on terror, apparently: Let a bunch of companies amass a giant amount of wealth, and then attempt to seize it all!

So, now the government is going to piss off the U.K... what's next, the IRA?

These DOJ moves really could end up being interesting cases of international law. I really don't see how they expect to enforce enforce their laws on foreign countries when it comes to the internet. Then again a lot of the Bush admin's actions are pretty retarded.

Other then to create highly paid meaningless jobs for the select few, why the hell do we have organisations like the WTO & UN when members can pick and choose which rulings they are going to implement. Do you think they are going after PartyGaming because they were listed and therefor their money is more traceable then some of the other sites, or because they think that PG is an easy target for a settlement because of their fast withdrawal from the US Market? I don't understand why the aren't going after sites thatare still doing business in the US first.

I still have no idea how the US is going after people who've set up companies in other countries though. I'm no lawyer, but it seems kinda ridiculous. Does this mean China can go after anyone who sets up proxies because some of their citizens are using them to surf censorsed sites?
