View Full Version : What's a good way to get FPPs (PokerStars) given my circumstances?

Hey, I've been trying to rack up some FPPs, because I'm saving up to get the 400 FPP hat. I play $5.50 sit and goes and now I have 99 after about 3 weeks. I place in the money often, so I have made quite a profit. Is there a faster way to get FPPs other than sit and goes? I can't really play in the higher stakes cash games either, so maybe that does limit my options. Thanks for any responses.

Micro-stakes NL ring games are even worse for FPPs than sit and goes, so you're probably best where you are.

Go turbo - then you can play more of 'em.

I agree with this. You barely get any in the micros. keep playing the sngs until you can comfortably play at least 50nl. 100nl is much much better though.

You could step up to higher buyin SNGs, which would earn you more points per table played. The $5.50 tables you're playing earn you 3 per table, the $11 tables would earn you 5 FPP, the $22 would earn you 10 FPP, etc. But with only 99 FPP, that means you've only played 33 tables so far which is WWWAAAAYYYYY too few to determine whether you're ready to move up in buyin.

PokerStars hat on ebay (http://cgi.ebay.com/POKERSTARS-COM-Hat-Black-ballcap-Poker-Stars_W0QQitemZ160073802481QQihZ006QQcategoryZ5236 6QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem)
It's like $5, $10 w/shipping. Or "Buy it Now" for $13, high rolla.

You can average about .40-.45 VPP's per hand playing 50NL so you'll be able to get the 300 points you need in about 700-800 hands. Playing any lower is probably not worth it compared to SNG's.

I disagree as I can do over 100 fpps @ 25NL in an hour.

Play some NLO8 25 and peddle you some nuts. That's a license to print FPPs.

This doesn't sound right.
Based on this thread ( VPP/hand (http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/showflat.php?Cat=0&Number=8642741&an=0&page=2#Post 8642741)), you get .242/hand full ring 50NL, and .25/hand 50NL 6max.

Some non-poker retail establishments will sell you "hats" if you ask politely and pay them 2 or 3 bucks.

It obviously depends on table selection too.

I'm going at 10FPP/hr 4 tabling normally, but today I was going at 20FPP/hr 4 tabling.

I'm slowly clearing my points with $5.50 SNGs right now. If I can build my BR high enough, I will switch to the $11s to get more FPPs and hopefully build the roll faster too.

But dude, don't be in a rush for the FPPs, your game may suffer. And your goal is a friggin hat! Don't ruin your game just to try to get a hat.

Why, who wouldn't want a pokerstars hat?

I started playing a bit on pokerstars yesterday 3 50nl tables, played for an hour and I got around 100fpp now, dunno if anyone cares off course but maybe it could be of use to the topic starter.

You should be a ble to get about 5-6 FPPs / hour / table NL25..... NL10 will get you about 1 FPP every 20-25 hands

I really shouldn't laugh because it wasn't that long ago I was whoring the lowest games to clear bonuses.
I compared the $5 SNG's to the $10 ones and saw that you get that extra 'bonus half-point' on the $5 ones (3 points for a $5 SNG, 5 points for a $10 one).

But looking at this wacky stuff is a lot different than just accumulating FPP's which aren't really worth that much.

At SilverStar you're not going to make very many of them and you should just be playing and not worrying about it.
Play on a different site that has RB if it makes you feel better.

For most purchases FPP's work out to about 1.6 cents each.

So when you're talking about stuff like 10FPP/hr 4-tabling you are really talking about $0.16/hr worth of points.
This is not a lot of money.

Increasing your play or stepping up in stakes for just a few more points or just to get a hat is not adviseable. The reward just isn't worth it and it's not even close.

Play your game. Get however many points you get and don't worry about it and don't go out of your way to get more.
