Just wanted to see how you guys would have handled it, and what have you done in the past.

This guy was sitting down when i got there, says he's trying to get rid of his money, starts pushing all in, showing 23o and just junk, and for a couple minutes push all in. I get a couple hands a10o I call he takes me down with 78o, so I recharge, and I get kk, I call his all in and 76o off takes me out with a straight. So I buy in again (.05/.10 NL ring stars) get q10s call his all in and he gets me again as an underdog. He wins 5 all ins a row, with me being his victim,3 times. So i've lost 3/4 of my br trying to get a simple double up through this loon(yeah i shouldn't be playing the blinds, but I don't mind, i can recharge through a friend and I hate .01/.02). Finally get one hand to get like 810 and I'm a dog, but I pull out, but that same hand someone else calls his all in and I only win back half the pot as he was a smaller stack and had a better hand. Then I busted another guy after he left after that with two pair on the flop to drop his straight on the river with the house, to finish up with 27$ so i'm only down 3 at that table so I'm happy to some extent.

Question

What hands to you put on other players that call this, are they in the same boat just looking for any decent hand to call, pocket pair, almost any a, maybe even suited connectors. I know you guys have ran into these guys and what was ur experience?

Thanks.

Man I was hurting for a while, poker gods were angry for a little while.

Yep. Just remember it's a whiteknuckle ride. Sounds like you did ok, but loosened up your range a bit too much trying to win your money back.

It's tough but you have to be patient otherwise you'll kick yourself later for playing their game.

Position is important here if you're thinking of calling with weakish hands like T8. I usually just sit around and wait for premium hands and hope the maniacs money holds out that long. TT+ AQ+ in early position for me, but open up from late position. If the maniac is really deep stacked, and I am too (300-400+bb)I tighten up in late position. This can be pretty high variance, and I wouldn't recommend it if you can't afford to lose a few buy-ins.

it should be profitable (+ev) to call him down with most hands, since he pushes every hand. But I will probably not make this play at 100nl simply because I couldn't handle a 3 bi downswing in 2 minutes, your in the same kind of situation at 10nl, so I would just wait for some premium hands TT+ AJs+

I often leave such a table, because I'm not the only one waiting for good hands. And when I open up my range, someone else doesn't and gets tripled up. I only stay when the table really folds every time and I can be sure that noone enters the pot with me, i.e. I really want to be in late position / blinds to see who else will call his all-in.

so you got your money in with the best of it twice good result. not too sure about QT, but if he's shoving every hand maybe. as someone above said this is high variance.

I called one of these w/A9o (25NL for $18). I considered doing this a loose play and wouldn't have gone a smidgen looser though. Villain happened to have 75o, and I ended up taking it down w/A high. There was one person who limped after I limped but I really didn't think they were trapping.
