Push flop. As played AI on turn.

I think you gotta raise more on the flop, 1.75-2 sounds about right. Other than that, stick him in here, if he has a 9, so be it. /images/graemlins/frown.gif

I'll be honest, practically every time I get that aggressive with an overpair on the flop or turn, I wind up with an aching rectum. This is WA/WB here. Assuming he's not bluffing, he either has a small to medium PP or a single 7 and I'm golden, or he as a 9 or 77, and I'm screwed. Why is it such a good idea to push here?

Because he will call with a 7 and any pocket pair if he's a typical player at these stakes. You wanna get his money in before he gets scared of a 3rd spade on the river.

I raise that flop to about 2.5.

As for pushing over his raise. I think this is close.

You get called so by enough hands like overpairs and A7 that it is +ev to push this unless you have a read that villain is a nit or good (unlikely).

This would definitely be a bad play with deep stacks or at a tougher table but here I think it is best against typical villains.

Call. Huge pot, and it looks like you'll get to SD cheaply.

Edit: this advice is for the turn only.

This is exactly right sean. He will call off all his chips here w/ 55 a lot on the flop, but when an over card hits he'll get scared.
