I had been playing solid, raising and taking down pots in position. Dont know much about villain, he donk bet strong into me once when I raised on the button, and I folded, but I dont really know what to make of this. He has been at the table for a few orbits now and seems ok.

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.50 BB (6 handed) internettexasholdem.com (http://www.internettexasholdem.com)

CO ($15.40)
Button ($27)
SB ($80.45)
Hero ($55.10)
UTG ($53.95)
MP ($52.90)

Preflop: Hero is BB with 5/images/graemlins/club.gif, 8/images/graemlins/club.gif.
UTG calls $0.50, MP calls $0.50, CO calls $0.50, 1 fold, SB completes, Hero checks.

Flop: ($2.50) J/images/graemlins/spade.gif, 9/images/graemlins/diamond.gif, 6/images/graemlins/club.gif (5 players)
SB checks, Hero checks, UTG checks, MP checks, CO checks.

Turn: ($2.50) Q/images/graemlins/club.gif (5 players)
SB checks, Hero bets $2, UTG raises to $5, MP folds, CO folds, SB folds, Hero calls $3.

River: ($12.50) 9/images/graemlins/club.gif (2 players)
Hero checks, UTG bets $12, Hero ....?

a) minraises, since anything more would have to be a push
b) shoves
c) calls ?

any other comments and thoughts I would also appreciate

thanks
mike

turn bet is ugly, you have very little FE.

As played it's obv. call or raise (right? You weren't thinking of folding were you?)

I quite like a call, I don't think any worse hands are calling you and obv. no better hands are folding

A lone 9 will probably call a min-raise, but if you min-raise and he pushes you're going to be in a rough spot. I call.

umm... would a lone 9 play the turn like that? I seriously doub it.

well I bet the turn becuause I picked up a flush draw to go with my gutshot, and wanted to beef the pot up for my draw since I probably have a good amount of equity despite so many people in the pot... where is this wrong? His raise obviously gives me pot odds to see a river.

A lone 9 probably isn't doing that on the turn. btw, I want more discussion before I say what I actually did and why Im posting the hand. I think its kind of interesting.

EDIT: and I'm not considering folding.

Turn bet is horrible. Only hands that beat you call and you bloat the pot forcing you into a rough spot on the river if someone bets/raises you.
On the river I miniraise and punch the screen if villian shoves.

EDIT: Actually, miniraising is bad. I rarely see villians make a PSB on the river with a flush showing. Just call.

ok. I ended up shoving. I thought about the hand afterwards, and came to realize that this is terrible and is turning my hand into a total bluff, repping a flull-house. villian tanked for a while, and finally folded. his comments in the chat: 'i dont know if im weak or smart for folding this..' he didn't tell me what he had, but I think I may have pushed him off of what was probably a bigger flush.

I would like an explanation as to why my turn bet was that bad.

Thanks
Mike

I agree the turn bet is spewish. What is calling you here? Hands that have you beat and at the time you have a gut shot and a low flush draw with one to come. This to me isnt even a semi bluff.

As played call on the river

Is turn bet really that bad? We have a double gutshot and a flush draw and we're only talking about 4BB (I would heavily discount the 10's as outs though). Since everyone checked the turn there is always the chance that we take it down right there. Further, We doubled the final pot size with a $2 bet and $3 call. Is this the wrong way to think?

In position I happen to like the turn bet, you now have a DBSD and FD. W/O reads I call.
