I bet here to define my hand, but I thought about whether this is the right play here with so many people to go after me and my marginal hand. The second to last player to act was quite loose (44 vpip--1.4 aggression).

My question is this: In this case, with 4 people to act on a flushy (albeit paired) board, and with a very loose guy to
act in the end, is betting out here a good or bad play with this ok (i.e not great) hand? In other words, is this move +EV in this sitution?

bet isn't terrible because it's not completely out of the picture for you to have a garbage 8 in the sb with all those limpers, but it's obv. much more effective when you're betting this from the BB

you probably won't be raised by much worse so try to get to showdown cheaply if called

I lead out here with a probe bet to see where I'm at. If I'm called, I try to get to a cheap showdown especially if another diamond falls. I'm probably done with the hand if anyone plays back at me.
