I'm wanting to play 10$ max NLHE full tables. I'm trying to decide if my 31 max buy in's is enough to safely play here or if I should keep grinding the lower limits like I've been doing and wait? Any opinions?

(edit:) Also if this is enough to play there safely, how much should I strive for before I move up to 25$ max?

I've been lurking around here for quite some time. Also I was wondering how much I should aim for to move up to 25$ max? 700 800?

many people do it w/ 15 or less

that is 30 buy in at current means moving up (15 at new) - the big jump BR wise is then 10 to 25 - i'm sure 300-500 is good

just be prepared to move back down after you lose a pre-set amount... if it happens

20 buy ins is the standard around here but u could take shots with 15-20 as long as u r willing to drop back down if u lose a few buy ins to start.

Okay, so I guess around 500$ I'll take some shots at 25$ max. I'll keep everyone updated on my journey through 10$ max.

31 buy ins is more then enough for a winning player.

Yet oddly I seem to have missed the assertion by the OP that he's a winning player at these stakes, let alone convincing evidence that would lead me to believe him.

People get the cart before the horse all the time. First you need to establish you're winning; then you worry about being adequately bankrolled.

So what do you do before you know you're winning? Set aside some investment capital for learning the game. And play very low. Then when you move up, each lower stakes will subsidize your education/establishing a winrate at higher stakes.

Play as low as you can until you know you can beat it AND WHY you can beat it. Also consider short stacks (http://poker.wikia.com/wiki/Short_stack) as a way to build up your game incrementally and still build bankroll while you learn the intricacies of postflop play.

Move up to 25NL at $500 and drop back down to 10NL if you drop down to $400. Establish a plan like that.

If I put in $1000 and play 25NL, how much should I have to build the account to until playing 50NL might seem right? $2000 or more?

You should understand why you're beating NL25 and what to look for to tell whether you can beat NL50. If that's the case, you don't need as much as $2000.

Pff this question always comes up:

15-20x should be enough if you are a winning player, 5x isn't that is just kind of gambling. At the lower levels
I wouldn't worry about it too much though I can't imagine having too grind $100 at 2nl

so around $100-$200 for 10nl $400-$500 for 25nl $900-$1000 for 50nl $2000 for 100nl etc...

'beat' yet I still don't manage to win at $100nl with 25bi's
