reads are the most important thing in this hand

That's a massive pot PF and you're stuck with the dreaded...big slick. As played, the fold on the flop is imminent.

So I should have called?

yeah odds are too good, the only hand you are worredi about now is AA and since QQ+ AK is probably his range (maybe tighter idk) then this is fine. If his range was QQ+ this would still be a call, you are getting 3:1 plus position

Is this a hand where the Sklansky push AK preflop play would work?

i forget what he wrote, what was his argument?

In situations like this, pushing can be the right play, since you're only afraid of AA and KK, plus you have some fold equity.
I don't think this is one of those situations though...
There was a limp, raise, re-raise, the limper cold calls, and then a re-raise.. Somebody in there has AA or KK (I'm guessing cold-caller had AK as well).. Flop all-in left right after, so still no read.

well you have 0 FE against KK+ this might be a beter play oop, but you're otb KK+ is quite likely here.

Fold to the $13 4-bet preflop.

Fold before the flop after the $13 MP1 raise. He's representing AA or KK and UTG+1 is still to act.
