I was wondering what I should have done at the turn. I probably should have checked. I thought he might have had a midpair or a low pocket pair that I could get him to lay down. His stats are 60/20 over 5 hands (he just joined the table). Also the river card was very bad since it negated my hand to the board. Any suggestions?

I call preflop and hope to hit a set.
Fold on flop with 1:22.5 to hit set.

You shouldn't have done anything on the turn because you never should have seen it.

I'd suggest not trying this with only 5 hands worth of previous information on the guy. If you are going with it whatever reraise pf so at least he can put you on a big hand.

I would consider raising the flop as it looks like a weak cbet but again, read dependent.

As played, why are you possibly calling the turn here? He's telling you you are beat, and you are drawing extremely thin.

Without a read I'm usually folding to the flop bet.

I didn't call the turn. I bet the turn heavy.

are you saying I should have folded the after the flop bet? that could easily be a cb trying to take down the pot. I called and on the turn he checked, so he probably just has an ace high.

If I were driving the action with 22 preflop, I might be more inclined to play this differently, but since we're just calling for set value here and didn't hit our set, kick it in.
