I'd say you're most likely beat here, but I don't think a call is terrible getting 10-1.

The turn min-raise is kind of weird. If I had to guess I'd say he has an 8, but who knows. Maybe he has a weak 2 pair.

Does anyone fold the turn?

yes, i fold on the turn. Most donks will minraise with the 8

he ended up holding 78spades no flush draw mid pair he cold called my 2/3 pot bet.

Im not results oriented and I know stupid plays like that will come back to haunt him, but did I play it well? Could I have really put him on an 8?

Since all he needed was a single 8, once he raises that becomes a HUGE part of his range. 53 VPIP is probably calling a lot of hands from the big blind.

Not that I think he played the hand well at all, but there are worse plays than calling a possible cbet with a pair and a gutshot.

I think the only thing you could of done is bet 1.25 on the flop and 3 instead of 2 on the flop. Other than that this is standard. You had the odds on the turn and river to call both bets. The only thing you can think to yourself is that a bad player could of easily donked off a lot more money than you did.

i agree with the fact that,
1) he was in the bb so he probably was going to call with anything!
2) all cards on the board were low so he probably figured you had high cards since you raised, maybe ak, aq and he figured with gut shot he should call!
3) he was obviously a donk and will in time surrender all his money to you.

i probably would have folded on the turn or pushed on the flop...

Don't really like how this hand was played. Since you are in the SB you need to net more pf (at least $1.25) to get more people to Fold since you are out of position for the rest of the hand. Flop bet was good but on the turn you have to either check or bet more. You bet way too small on the turn which would have given your loose opponent good reason to keep chasing his hand (if he hadn't already hit). With the min raise you should have reevaluated his hand and check the river then decide what to do if and when he bets.
