I just deposited $50 into a Poker Stars Account with their 100% Signup Bonus (500FPP's)...

My question is what is the best limit/format to earn the required points to clear the bonus??? I want to play within my tiny bankrolls' means but still clear the bonus ASAP.

Any feedback would be much appreciated.

Thanks

well, play at the highest limit that you normally play and are comfortable at...

Sounds to me like you'd be hard pressed to play 25NL as you only have 2 buy-ins.

10NL might be better, but the bonus will take a while to clear at that level.

SNG should be best if you gonna clear it.
But I wouldnt bother with this bonus. Its simply to bad for a small stakes player.

I personally do not think you will be able to play anywhere near “within your roll”, if you want to clear this bonus with any speed. I believe $3.40 SNGs only give 1 FPP each, and the variance is bad on them because they are turbos. So, to try and clear your bonus at those would be silly. $5.50's give you 3 FPPs each, and they are what I am focusing on now. But with only $50, you have a REAL danger of going busto with one bad run. So that goes against your desire to play within your roll. The $5.50's are what I am doing to clear this bonus, but I deposited $125 and I worked it up to $170 now. Even with my $125, I still didn't feel entirely comfortable in the $5.50's, as far as bankroll went.

So it seems SNGs are not going to fit your needs. And to be honest, neither are cash games. They don't hand out FPP's to micro cash game players too often, and that is about all you are rolled for right now.

My advice would be to concentrate on building your roll first. Either grind away for a month or so at micro cash games, or just deposit more money. They give you 6 months to clear the thing, why rush it and chance going busto with your $50? I just do not think you can realistically play within your roll and clear the bonus quickly. You have to choose one or the other.

2 buy-ins of .50/$1 full ring.
If you lose both, drop down to .25/.50 to rebuild roll for another .50/$1 buy-in.

If you are a decent limit player this should clear your 500 fpps easily.

The $1.50+.75 2-table SnG's are pretty soft. Rake's on the high side but you can build up yer roll that way. And they're good for 1 FPP each.

Thanks for the posts guys... I am aware of the challenges proposed by starting with such a small amount at this site but am mostly wondering what the safest limit/game would be to not lose the bankroll but have a decent shot at clearing the bonus soon. I appreciate all the feedback, if anyone else has any other advice I would love to hear it.

Thanks again

Play hands at 0.02/0.05 and build up your bankroll some more. If you build it quickly, move up to 0.05/0.10 and then to 0.10/0.25. As a previous poster stated, you've got another 5.5 months to clear the bonus.

Try not to be obsessed with the bonus, concentrate on your game. If you are good player, your winnings will be more than the bonus anyway and the bonus will clear itself as you move up.

Good advice. The bonus is a result of good play. I cleared the bonus doing 25/50 cent NL within a few weeks.

Deposit another 200 and start 2 or 3 tabling 1/2 6max.

You really shouldnt go after the bonus with this kind of 'bankroll'.

Best way for getting FPPs is probably playing the 0.10/0.25 NL Omaha hi/lo and 0.10/0.25 PLOmaha full ring cash games.

Buyin for the minimum of $5, play only premiums, leave when you double up.

This method of playing is called 'ratholing' and your opponents will hate you for doing that.

Again, dont bother about the bonus and focus on playing well and having fun playing poker.
