View Full Version : PokerRoom Rake/Player Points Change

Anyone notice that with the new PokerRoom website update, the rake has changed and the player points has changed?

I'm at $0.10/$0.25, but I noticed that it takes at least $0.05 out of every pot once the flop is seen, regardless of the amount in the pot. I saw a 50c pot with 5c rake taken out of it. 10c still comes out of a $1 pot also.

Also, the player points now have the following rules for holdem http://www.pokerroom.com/help/faq/index.php?action=viewSubCategory&categoryId=3
1 point for every raked real money hand where the rake was $1.00 or more. You get 0.5 points for every raked real money hand where the rake was less than $1.00 (but more than $0.50). You do not have to pay rake to earn points, you just need to be dealt cards. If you are sitting out you will not earn any points.
NOTE: This schedule has been (and may again be) reworked to even out the possibilities to earn points in the different games.

Anyone else notice?

I just tried to log on to my account at their website, to see whether they had changed any conditions on my pending bonus, but can't log on? Can you?

I see that too. I think you used to get 0.07 points for every 10c in rake up to the $3 max (2.1 points).

It seems like they have effectively taken player points away from the micro limits (maximum rake on 25c big blind tables is 50c which would not earn any player points).

You will probably end up earning less player points on the other limits too (e.g. pots with $1 in rake will now get you 1 player point instead of 0.7, however, $2 rake will get you 1 player point instead of 1.4).

I'm not sure if the other ongame sites will apply the same scheme. If you look on Hollywood poker's site they still refer to 0.07 pp per 10c of rake.

Just don't use that site imo.

Their bonuses took forever at micros as it was, why the hell would they make it even harder?! Also, PR still has $4.88 of my BR as of the US ban, and they won't give it back! Sons of bishes! Damn you PR!!!

After the mess with that 19k guarantee tournament and their attitude about it why would you ever think of playing there again?

Hollywood are still showing the same PP clearing as before (0.7 blah) for ring games. Site is really slow but PT Ongame data from 9/06 onwards shows plenty of 50c pots raked 5c months ago /images/graemlins/confused.gif

Looks like the rake is still the same on PokerRoom, even though the website rake has changed.

Hi,

I thought it would be best to clarify this situation, than let it go with no response. The rake structure is exactly the same as it was before the relaunch of the site. A copy writing issue was the source of the confusion and the offending FAQ will be corrected today.

Hi,

On the 3rd of January we launched a brand new site. We found the new site had some issues that needed to be addressed, which is why every day since the release of the site we have released a patch with fixes in it.

To some this may seem to slow, but we want to make sure that the fixes are working.
