Relevant history: I'd taken a buy-in from villain a couple of orbits before, and this was 2nd hand in a row that I raised preflop. I was hesitant to c-bet for that reason, but obv. is was a mistake in hindsight. Did he slowplay a set expecting me to stay aggressive? River c-r seemed fishy, but I didn't have the balls to call. Shame on me?

People dont check raise as a bluff on the river at these levels.

Some people will actually slow play a jack here like this. I am however betting this flop IP like 90%.

C-bet the flop..As played your bet on the river was too weak..You basically played your hand face up villain should know you have AK or AQ and he doesn't seem to care..Fold to the C/R

He would not check-raise bluff here because you played it just like you had an ace and were scared to bet the whole way, you need to bet this flop to see how your opponent responds and figure out where you are at. The way you played it you left yourself too much of a guessing game. Definitely fold to this river bet.

Ya, I def. screwed up on flop. I almost talked myself into calling figuring I was getting under this guy's skin from previous hands, and he was overplaying A-x. Check-raise on river seemed pretty advanced here, he really wouldnt bet one time with a flopped monster?

The strength of your hand seems pretty transparent by the flop & turn play ... I would fold the river (i highly doubt villian is trying to push you off an Ace).

I'd c-bet the flop usually, but given the conditions at the time i'd at least pull a delayed c-bet on the turn.
