I've been trying to improve my play with overpair and top pair types of hands, so any reasoning for your suggestions would be much appreciated.

One bump.

Re-raise more pre-flop. I tend to make re-raises out of the blinds a little more than a pot-sized raise so that if my opponent calls in position he has at least paid a premium for the privilege. A pot-raise would be bumping it to $5.25 ($1.50 + $1.50 + $1 is a $4 pot + $1.25, what you needed to call), so I'd make it $6 here.

The flop has all sorts of draws on it, so again, I'm betting more, at least $7 and maybe potting it. As played, I think I'm peeling one off and reassessing on the turn. I'd really like to get a cheap showdown, but who knows?

The stats on villain don't mean much to me. Does he steal a lot? Like to bet scare cards?

Reads on villain help.

I call and re-evaluate the turn.

He plays hard after the flop. Is he a good player that likes to push low flops figuring he can steal when you have overcards? Has he shown down any plays like this? His small reraise is fishy, very hard to read if you have no prior knowledge of this player.

I'd just call the raise. I would hate folding to a 4-bet (pretty sure it would be wrong?), but calling a push from vilian seems bad too. There are a ton of combo draws villian could be playing fast here. If money's going it i would rather it be on a safe turn.

I'm either c/cin or c/fin the turn depending on the card (i realize there are a zillion turn scare cards that villian can use to push us off our hand, but that's the breaks of being OOP i guess)
