Is it standard to check/raise med overpairs on flops like this one? It may look like I am check/raising with air on flops like this one to my opponent and his subsequent calls or reraise makes it harder to discern the strength of his hand.

I am commited on the turn when the pot is about the size of my remaining stack, yes?

Check-call is superior to check-raising. Check-raising only folds out worse hands, better hands call.

I check/call the flop and lead the turn. You have no fold equity here if villain has any hand at all.

As played: lead the turn with a push. By leaving 15 behind, you are commited to the pot and betting the whole 35 would be only a slight overbet and maximizes fold equity.

There are a LOT of draws possible on that board. Villain could easily have 54 so definitely DON'T give a free card of any sort. Building a big pot on the flop will really help you play the turn and river easier.
