Villain is a normal 60/30/5 over 50.

Party Poker
No Limit Holdem Ring game
Blinds: $0.05/$0.10
5 players
Converter (http://www.neildewhurst.com/hand-converter)

Stack sizes:
UTG: $11.35
Hero: $10.35
Button: $11.05
SB: $37.87
BB: $9.70

Pre-flop: (5 players) Hero is CO with J/images/graemlins/diamond.gif A/images/graemlins/heart.gif
UTG folds, <font color="#cc0000">Hero raises to $0.4</font>, Button folds, SB calls, BB calls.

Flop: J/images/graemlins/club.gif 8/images/graemlins/spade.gif 2/images/graemlins/diamond.gif ($1.2, 3 players)
<font color="#cc0000">SB bets $0.7</font>, BB folds, <font color="#cc0000">Hero raises to $2.6</font>, SB calls.

Turn: 2/images/graemlins/club.gif ($6.4, 2 players)
SB checks, Hero checks.

The flop was quit dry and the turn did not help. So I decided to show some weakness to induce a bet on the river, since worse J may be folding the turn because of the pot size.

River: 9/images/graemlins/club.gif ($6.4, 2 players)
<font color="#cc0000">SB bets $1.6</font>, <font color="#cc0000">Hero raises to $5</font>, SB calls.

The river did not seem too bad, so I proceeded with the reraise.

Was turn check a valid line?

turns check is good, mainly for pot control. River raise is o.k. Could bet more though, I think you have him beat most of the time

I like the turn, but not so keen on the river.

you induced the bluff, and if he is bluffing is he going to call the raise? I think the river raise is one of those bets that only gets called when we are beat.

I induce a bet from a jack, bluff is peripheral. And I think a worse jack is calling this reraise given the odds.

I value bet the turn every time against this type of player.

I so should have.

This is correct IMO. Against someone w/ stats like this you can't be afraid to value bet the [censored] out of him. These people will call down w/ mid pair, gutshots, even A high sometimes. Sometimes you have to play TPTK like its the nuts, especially when he's c/c every bet.
