Just sat down 3-4 hands ago, no reads.

Thought process:
Turn brings a possible flush, but w/o a spade in my hand I didnt feel like checking behind so I fired a bit more than half pot.

River card makes it almost impossible for me to fold. I'm now ahead of all slowplayed sets, two-pairs or overpairs.

Question:
1) Do you like the turn bet or do you prefer to check behind?
2) Given how the hand was played, if the river is not a queen, do you call a 1/2 pot bet?

1) I check behind the turn to keep it small so I can call 1/2 pot on the river and because I'm scared of monsters. Yes it risks a 4th spade falling. People will chase a flush to even a PSB. (edit for muddled thoughts and mixed sentences here)

2) FR without the Q hitting, I like to think I fold this.

As usual, reads help swing this one way or another.

obviously you're not folding here, it's either raise or call. I think I just call.

I'd check behind on the turn though, usually he's only going to call with a hand that beats you. JJ/A/images/graemlins/spade.gifT are the only hands he's really calling (readless you have to assume theyre reasonably solid). There isnt much else apart from the flush draw/trips that he's calling with on the flop.

Check behind on turn for me as well, you hate to see a fourth spade fall but I think it's the risk you have to take, a value bet here is way too thin IHMO.

Like everyone else, check behind on the turn, call river.

If the river happened to not be a Q, I'd fold to the half pot bet if opponent made it.

Thanks guys

Good point on the potential non-flush hands that could contain a big ace
