What do you make of these gimpy bets? As I had the gutshot, I jsut called here. If I'm the pre-flop aggressor and the hand is HU, I usually raise, so in this case I would have raised the flop bet to about $2.50. Is this a case of the player usually wanting to draw cheap? In this case the player had 44. I called the river, for information and also as he may have been on a missed flush draw.

Without being results orientated, I often at least raise on the flop here. In my experience, villain's fold the vast majority of the time after making a min-donkbet into the pfr facing a raise, and a near pot-sized raise usually gives them all the encouragement they need. So on the flop I likely would have raised to ~$4.
