I've been reading NLHETAP (:P) and there are some times when they mention betting more than the full size of the pot.

It seems like everything you read around here suggests making at least a 1/2 size pot bet and up to a full size pot bet, but I don't recall reading much if anything about betting more than the full size of the pot.

So when is it correct to bet more that the full size of the bet?

when your opponent has a strong second best hand on the river

when you shove for overpot as a semibluff with a big draw

there are others.

TBH I'm not a big fan of the overbet but against calling stations/donators or to represent a bluff with a strong hand are okish spots to do it sometimes. Also, overbet shoving the river in a very small pot with the nutzers is also good sometimes.
