call, you want action on the button, let one of the blinds get involved too.

I asked this because this is how the hand played out:

Full Tilt Poker
No Limit Holdem Ring game
Blinds: $0.10/$0.25
8 players
Converter (http://www.neildewhurst.com/hand-converter)

Stack sizes:
UTG: $58.65
UTG+1: $5.30
MP1: $11.80
MP2: $15.95
CO: $72.25
Hero: $47.70
SB: $30
BB: $18.20

Pre-flop: (8 players) Hero is Button with K/images/graemlins/heart.gif K/images/graemlins/club.gif
UTG folds, <font color="#cc0000">UTG+1 raises all-in $5.3</font>, 3 folds, Hero calls, SB calls, BB folds.

Flop: 2/images/graemlins/spade.gif J/images/graemlins/heart.gif 2/images/graemlins/club.gif ($16.15, 2 players + 1 all-in - Main pot: $16.15)
<font color="#cc0000">SB bets $3</font>, <font color="#cc0000">Hero raises to $18</font>, <font color="#cc0000">SB raises all-in $24.7</font>, Hero calls.

Turn: 4/images/graemlins/club.gif ($65.55, 1 player + 2 all-in - Main pot: $16.15, Sidepot 1: $49.4)

River: K/images/graemlins/spade.gif ($65.55, 1 player + 2 all-in - Main pot: $16.15, Sidepot 1: $49.4)

Results:
Final pot: $65.55
<font color="#ffffff">Hero showed Kh Kc</font>
<font color="#ffffff">SB showed 2d 2h</font>
<font color="#ffffff">UTG+1 showed 7s 7c</font>

The sb had pocket 2's and thus made 4 of a kind on the flop.
The guy who pushed all-in had pocket 7's.

SB only have 30, so even if you your just calling here he doesn't have the proper odds for making this call, it sucks that he hit quads but I don't see anything wrong with the way you played it. The fact that he called a 21BB preflop bet doesn't exactly scream 22 /images/graemlins/smile.gif

You played the hand fine. You're essentially complaining about a bad beat. [censored] happens. Play it like this every time and you come out ahead in the end.

meh. close call I think. A smooth call is probably fine because neither the SB or BB are that deep- they don't have much in the way of implied odds against you callng a $5 raise with a $20 or $30 stack. If they had similar stacks to yours, I might just push since I won't be laying down an overpair postflop here.

Hero smooth calls so he can possibly gobble more than $5 with his KK.

You played the hand fine. Results are irrelevant.
