View Full Version : 50NL. AQs OTB. Is that a good spot to semi-bluff?

I ask your opinion on this hand. Was it correct to second barrel here?

I c-bet half the pot on flop to see the action while not investing too much.

Action appeared good to me (1 fold and 1 call). We're HU and I put caller on PP below JJ, so, given turn card, I have many outs even if he was trapping me with set. I think it is nice spot to semi-bluff. Of course, set calls, but something like A8, 66 may fold.

Comments welcome.

If your going to Cbet I like a bet of a bit more here. But since your OOP vs 2 villains I like a check in this spot. On the turn, wow I think 9 dollars there would have accomplished the same thing. I only like this if you know that villain is capable of laying down a made hand, from his stats I wouldn't make that assumption though.

I personally try to avoid c-betting into two opponents on the flop without at least a pair or a flopped draw, but given the outcome of your actions, I suppose this turn bet isn't horrible. Ease up on the c-bets, holla.

2nd barrel doesn't have to be so big, $13 or so does the trick ... betting in relation to pot size usually decreases on later streets
