I would have bet the river. As played, easy call. You are almost never facing an 8 (how could he have got there?).

what are the hands that you put villain on?

Flopped straight, A-high, any PP, any set. By checking the river, you may have induced a bluff, so you have to call.

I think if the BB has a straight on the river he already had it, as has been said I would have bet the river.

As played call.

Would J8/J7 really call that raise PF? I think the only 8 you can see is poket 8s or maybe A8. I would call river, I dont know if you can take into account villians river aggro as it is a small sample of hands.

Isn't this a nice time for a blocking bet?

Bet about 12$ I would say, and fold to a raise.

river is easy check call if villain has a river aggro rating of 4.

I beat his chips to the pot with my call. If he'll call often anyway with 2pair+ then pushing river is good too.

He has a set, flopped a straight or has QT - the only time he hs an 8 is with 88 I think - or he's bluffing - he's known to be aggro on rivers so must be capable of bluffing - I am never folding here.

I see KJ here a ton, especially on Full Tilt. You were betting for him. He didn't want you to go away, but he didn't want you to catch your flush either. By the river he knows he has the nuts and can bet into your "made" hand and get called better than 50%.

If a /images/graemlins/heart.gif had fallen on the river, he woulda checked behind.

If he has ANY talent, the maths make sense too as he was filling the pot at a good enuf clip that the river PUSH was not an overbet. Well played.

That being said, Hero needs to send out a blocking bet on the river.

I like the way you played it. I would have played it the same.
