Villain stats lead me to believe the villain is a decent player.

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $1.00 BB (6 handed) Hand History Converter Tool (http://poker-tools.flopturnriver.com/Hand-Converter.php) from FlopTurnRiver.com (http://www.flopturnriver.com) (Format: 2+2 Forums)

Villain is on the bad side of decent if he has a habit of donk leading flops.

Make it $20 and see how the guy with two /images/graemlins/club.gif in his hand responds.

Yep, you are beat here practically never. $15-$20 sounds about right to me.

FYI - I would be about 90% certain his range is 2 clubs, J9, or Tx.

Could you post stats, looking at your 99 hand on a aa9 board without a read is pretty hard to decide, this is on that level.

I like a raise here. If he calls I slow way down on a club or put a lot of sets in his range.

raise. if he 3bets you you are almost certainly beat. if he flat calls (or folds obv) you are definitely ahead. he probably has a club draw, straight draw, or weakish TP/middle pair type hand.

Raise it up to 18ish. I think your assessment of players skill level is a bit off, unless he knows you are aggro and will auto raise a mini donk bet with nothing.

his flop donk pretty much rebuts any presumption of good play based on stats. he could be outthinking you and going for b/3b w/a monster, but I think we can safely fold to a 3bet so this is a must raise.

raise. if he 3bets you you are almost certainly up against a draw.

You are ahead here almost always and a weak lead like this whilst sometimes a draw is often a very weak made hand. You dont need a hand to raise this bet to around $20 but the fact that you have one is a bonus.
