Chemistry: Turpentine

If you were going to use turpentine in support of the forces of Awesome, how would you use it?

I've heard an old wives' tale that it kills lice too, which I'd imagine that it does, but I"m not sure how safe it is to use it for that purpose. /images/graemlins/smile.gif
