It's been ages since I played any poker, particularly 6-max (I previously did full ring), so wanted to toss up some hands as I ease back into things.

Villian was fairly loose and agressive from what I'd seen, but mostly postflop.

SB ($20.80)
BB ($20.10)
UTG ($39.90)
Hero ($33.80)
CO ($12.90)
Button ($15.70)

Preflop: Hero is MP with K/images/graemlins/club.gif, A/images/graemlins/diamond.gif.
UTG raises to $0.75, Hero raises to $3, 4 folds, UTG raises to $5.25, Hero calls $2.25.

Seemed standard for me to call this and proceed with caution. Anyone prefer otherwise?

Flop: ($10.85) 2/images/graemlins/club.gif, 2/images/graemlins/spade.gif, K/images/graemlins/spade.gif (2 players)
UTG bets $5, Hero calls $5.

Hit my flop, but still a way-ahead, way-behind situation given villians range (TT-AA, AK/AQ). Figured a raise would push off the hands I'm ahead of and just build the pot if i'm behind.

Turn: ($20.85) 7/images/graemlins/diamond.gif (2 players)
UTG checks, Hero checks.

Ok, maybe he does have TT-QQ here. Didnt feel like getting blown off my hand to a CR. Thoughts?

River: ($20.85) 3/images/graemlins/club.gif (2 players)
UTG bets $5, Hero calls $5.

Definately the river is at least a call. Anyone raise this up?

Final Pot: $30.85

what's his range PF? if youre pf call was warranted postflop looks fine. River raise is super marginal

I like how you played it. His preflop range is like what you said, TT-AA, AK AJ. A raise would build the pot for the hands you're behind. But, does he usually bet so weak? I mean half than less the pot, is that something villain would do with hit set or AA on this kinda board. There's the flush draw out and villain is betting pretty weak, probably more of a scared bet than a value bet. Also, his river bet is the same as the flop, I kinda thikn we're ahead here against AQ, JJ QQ or TT, AA and KK are the only hands that beat us and we're ahead of AQ, JJ, QQ, TT, and split with AK. I like the turn check because this is a great spot to practice pot control, you don't wanna bloat the pot and since you have position, checking is nice. I might raise the river but probbaly call it, good hand sir.

I like how you played it, and I don't know if there is any value in raising the river unless you think he'll call with qq.

I believe he was thinking of 88+. If you only think he will call with QQ, never raise this river

i would raise the river blocking bet. QQ/JJ/whatever will call a decent amount of the time. He doesnt have AA/KK here.

a couple of recent AK hands when opponent blocks river

edit - 2nd hand isnt a block but you get the idea

I think you can miniraise river. If I were OOP, I typically shove PF.

Nope, forgot about preflop. 1010+(with lower hands in that range being less likely). Point being, the fewer 2nd pairs possible, the less inclined you should be to raise for value.
