I'd raise more on the flop like 8-9. A/images/graemlins/club.gifx and K/images/graemlins/club.gifQ feel like they have the nuts on these flops.

As played I'd bet slightly more on the turn and fold the river unless you have some information on the villain that persuades otherwise.

I agree raising a little more on the flop here. CO is probably cbetting this like always.

What about checking behind on the turn here? You have TPTK on a scary board so keeping the pot small is probably good?

You let him draw for free?

this would be o.k. but a high club is such a large part of villians range that I think hero should bet this

I've started to call the flop and bet on safe turns with hands like this. I prefer to do my pot control up front.

I like this line better than a flop raise. We dont bloat the pot on the flop, it allows for a cheaper fold should a club turn. In addition, we can offer incorrect expressed odds on and 0 implied odds by charging a club on the turn.

Agree. Also, I like 3b preflop more than calling personally.

What's wrong with calling this flop? Saves us money, because we know villain is rarely if ever folding here to a standard sized raise.

He isn't simply cbetting any hands that he folds to a raise?

no, it's more like if you raise and he calls, you will be playing a big pot here when you don't want to, and he's never folding a club draw

if you call, you still snap off his c-bet, and can take it down on the turn or bet there to charge his draw if he checks to you

edit: you can also get away cheaper on the turn if a club hits and you decide to fold
