Villian is 25/14/3 and seems fairly solid. I have 119 hands on him and he's fairly aggressive on all streets. He would either bet this turn or check/fold, maybe occasionally check/raise. So I don't think his range changed much from the flop to the turn. Do you like the way this was played?

I'd raise closer to 4 on the turn, and usually check behind on river if called.

why larger? what difference does the turn bet size make? Except now I'm potstuck :/.

EDIT: [censored] 10 dollar stacks here, of course.

i'd prefer to call the turn and let him fire again on the river. If hes aggressive like you said we get the most value when ahead and pay the least when behind.

if he fired river big, I don't think I'd be ahead often enough to call. Thats why I raised turn, more for metagame, so that I'm not always raising turn with JUST the nuts.

I think he'll very rarely call this turn raise with anything we beat, and if he does call with worse it'll be with TT.

Seems like your raise size prices in the possible draws (A4s, 54s,43s) admittedly he is unlikely to play those from the SB. What does this raise do but build a pot when you have an underpair that isn't all that likely to be good, seems like if you are doing this for the metagame you should bet agressively like you would with a set.

I always have small raise sizes, set or not. Mostly because I try to raise more often than most.
