The Vil has made many large bets post flop, but has only 3bet preflop with top hands (TT+ and AK probably)- He is 22/6/4.4 through 170 hands.

General comments on all streets.

I got what I wanted, kinda!?!

If I call and am wrong, did I play it correctly and "its poker"?

If I call and am right, was this the correct line against this guy?

At the time my thoughts were that he had bet the flop and turn so often that the same would happen. Since he was doing this so often, he probably had crapish cards / AA-KK (1 out), QQ-TT (2 outs). The later being more likely due to preflop action. If he did or didn’t hit on the river, I thought he would call my bet or raise me all in.

Looking back the same would probably have been true on the turn as well. Except it would have been a check raise, which is less often called or pushed.

No-one raise the flop? You have a monster draw.
Raise turn, call river.

I bet the flop and turn and push the rest in on the river.
