I haven't really played NL for a while, and after taking a look at my winrate over the 30k hands I had played, I figured that it may be a good idea to start playing some NL.

Is it really common to see people make small bets and/or raises postflop, when they hit a monster nowadays (at 25NL)?
I don't remember seeing much of this, but lately this seems to happen all the time to me, both by nittish hand crazy lag players.

Yes, I'm write this because I have lost a healthy amount of buy ins when mr. donkey pull stuff like this, while I hold and overpair, but this isn't really the point. I'm wondering if this is a really common thing that I somehow hasn't noticed.

Actually, it is. A miniraise is very often a set nowadays - but not alaways.
I've also seen Villains make pot sweeter bets preflop with Aces or Kings.
Be aware.

Flopminraise:
A made hand, but not very strong, trying to figure out 'where its at'.*
Turnminraise (flopcall/turnminraise):
A hand better than one pair.*

* This does not apply to pots that are reraised preflop
