2 limpers and I raise 8 /images/graemlins/diamond.gif 7 /images/graemlins/diamond.gif on the button (i do these things occasionally)
Sb and BB call, limpers call

Flop: A /images/graemlins/diamond.gif 2 /images/graemlins/diamond.gif 5 /images/graemlins/diamond.gif

BB bets 2, I raise 8, BB goes all-in for 30$.
I call and he shows Q /images/graemlins/diamond.gif J /images/graemlins/diamond.gif

Should I have realized he had a bigger flush? I thought he could be betting a 2 pair, a set or the wheel.

you got it right

this is variance when you play loose with hands like 87s. youre in to flop a flush. you did. money goes in regardless. if he has a higher flush so be it.

I wouldn't call his $30 with an 8

No, but with a flush you would.

You got cold-decked, don't think twice about it and move on.
