Shouldn't a person's number one goal in life be to procreate, within the limits of finance?

What do you base this on?

Oops I forgot to consider those who cannot have children. Adoption perhaps?

I based it on thinking what if my parents decided not to have kids?

The goal is to survive, to live a quality survival. If that fails the goal is the increased chances of survival of that which you value. And lessen that which you don't value. Everyone subscribes to this goal. Even the religious. After all it is the great reward of eternal survival that makes it so appealing.

But seriously, why do you think this?
