hmmm two sayings come to mind

'you can't prove a negative'
'you can lead a horse to water but you can't make it drink'

if he wants to continue believing his iron age fairy stories he will..

You can't argue with Christians. I think the bumper sticker says it all: "God said it, I believe it, and that's the end of it."

that is the longest "4 step" proof i've ever seen.

anyone got a cheat sheet?

as i read more and more of this it gets funnier and funnier. the guy just bans everyone who tries to disprove the arguement because they "are not interested in having a logical discussion." irony much?

I'm angry just reading this. How stubborn and blockheaded can someone be?

I have no problem with this if he doesn't put up the dollar figure. Since there is a 0% chance he will ever pay somebody, he might as well get rid of the "challenge".

It would be like me saying that I'll pay you $100,000 if you can make me believe 2+2=4. No matter how definite of proof you could give me, I could say that it was based on a belief system that I don't believe. And that is the end of it.

This guy just wants people to play with him. Somebody should slap him in the face.

I actually saw a flyer for this guy on a board at school the other day. The fact is you can't really "prove" evolution, you can provide overwhelming evidence but at some point you have to fill in some of the gaps with common sence and critics will always point to those holes in the theory.

The fact that his theory has much bigger holes to be filled is irrelevant.

Edit: I didn't actually click on the link at first, and thought this was something else. There was a flyer for a guy who was speaking against evolution that was supposed to be coming to VaTech sometime soon (sponsered by one of the local church groups not the school) and he was also offering 10K to anyone who could prove evolution.

Agreed, I'm not really particularly religious but I would call myself Christian if asked (I would never call myself Atheist, and certainly don't follow any other religion but I certainly have my own thoughts on most of what is in the bible and I'm sure quite a bit of it would be considered sacrilegious). I think its unfortunate that there are so many Christian nutjobs out there that it makes me embarressed to actually call myself one of them.

I almost want to think that this whole thing is the worlds biggest troll. No one is really as stupid as he comes off through out this, are they?

Moral systems do not require the concept of sin to distinguish between right and wrong.

[/ QUOTE ]
Yes they do, otherewise there would not be jails to put people in for sinning.

[/ QUOTE ]

Yep, that's what jails are for. To punish sinners.

This proof is pretty ghetto...It's just and long claim that "if you can't explain something, then God did it". And it's not even a PROOF...someone should get the 10K just for telling this guy that his ARGUMENT is not a PROOF.

this reminds me of the SIMPSONS episode where Homer gets a crayon removed from his brain and comes up with a proof that there is no God. /images/graemlins/tongue.gif
