Hi!

I'm wasting serious money on things like TP (former limit player). This hand is typical. I don't know the BU. I want to protect myself on the flop against flushdraws. Alarm rings when he calls. From the turn on, I have no idea what I'm doing. His bet seems to small to fold my hand. On the river I'm trying to block which fails miserably, of course. I'm pretty sure he has AK. How would you have played this hand?

I play 5NL 6-Max so my "advice" might be a little off.

I looked at this several times and I can't really put the guy on a narrow range. He could have a set, or two pair. It feels like a set to me, since I see players slow playing the ALL the time.

He could also have a busted flush draw that he is trying to bluff you off of since you bet "weak" on the river. Although he sure seems like he likes his hand on the turn.

What are your reads on this player? My gut feeling is you will see two pair or a set. Like K6 or something.

Why would you bet the river like this? Think about how bad this is.

You're underbetting the river by a mile, and basically saying "I have a mediocre hand at best and am not sure where I am, please bluff me!"

I probably check/call the river depending on bet size.

Firstly, I don't like the raise pre-flop. KQo is usually not a hand i'm raising with 2 limpers already in the pot. You're creating a big pot with a hand when even if you do hit top pair, you don't really know where you're at.

C-bet is good, but i'd bet a little less, say $0.50.

The call on the turn is okay, though OOP with such a suspiciously sized bet ($0.76?), I think there's a fair argument to give up the hand here.

I really don't like the size of the river bet. It just looks far too defensive, and you're asking for them to shove. If you are going to bet you need to bet at least $1 and possibly more. However I'd just check here and hope they check behind you.
