So I was examining the four basic hand types (as I categorize them) and found some very interesting information:

.25/.50 No Limit 9 Handed Cash
10/01/06 - 12/01/06
21,424 total hands
Net Earned - $1,005.30

Pocket Pairs - AA thru 22
1,265 hands - Net +1,918.25

Big Broadways Suited and Unsuited - AK AQ AJ AT KQ
1,119 hands - Net hands +430.55

Suited Connectors minus AK - KQ thru 32
703 hands - Net -24.45

Small Suited Aces - A9 thru A2
541 hands - Net -100.25

Makes me wonder why I play ANYTHING except pocket pairs. Now I know that I need to work on playing my drawing hands, i'm certain that i'm using the old "implied odds" trick as an excuse to keep going after a draw with bad odds and when you've got the stats in front of you, you really see that it's a bad play even if you hit your draw.

Just thought this was interesting info and wanted to share it. Btw, if you care to offer any advice on playing draws in no limit, i'd be glad to hear it, so far in all the books i've got the only advice i've found at all for no limit comes from Doyle's section in Super/System and his strategy seems to be to move all in or try to. I'm not sure that will work for me most of the time and would be glad to hear some good tips. Btw, i'm not holding on to small aces when I flop an ace but no draw, I do let it go easily. Thanks.

If you played fewer hands, you'd get less action on the hands you do play...thereby winning less.

I'm pretty sure that their is term for that..."Shania" is it? I read a thread on here about it..was a great read.

Doyle also says for this to work you need to play your big made hands the same way. This implies that you are playing with the same people on a regular basis. I don't think it's a great strategy for these micro-limits.

I'm not saying never semi-bluff all-in on a draw. I just wouldn't make it your default move.

Mine:

Pocket Pairs-290 hands, +$830.90

Suited Connectors-184 hands, -$84.05

Off-suited Connectors-563 hands, +$329.50

Non-paired Broadways(suited/unsuited)-187 hands, +$326.70

Small suited aces (A9s-A2s)-122 hand, +$100

As you can see, I suck at playing suited connectors. Something I shall work on.

I would guess that one problem you have is positional awareness. Limping A9s UTG is much different than open raising A9s from the button.

Suited Aces A2-A9 are trash OOP.
