Is this what you get for not raising pre-flop? I was kinda clueless here (like it's news...) MP2 seems dangerous with 40/16/3.6 over 360 hands, Button runs 55/3/1 (117) and BB 31/11/1.5 (110).

No Limit Holdem Ring game
Blinds: .25$/$.5
9 players

Button ($24.17)
SB ($14.15)
BB ($35.62)
Hero ($70.30)
UTG+1 ($4.98)
MP1 ($54.55)
MP2 ($49.85)
CO ($17.70)

Pre-flop: (9 players) Hero is UTG with T/images/graemlins/spade.gif T/images/graemlins/diamond.gif
Hero calls, 2 folds, MP1 folds, MP2 calls, CO folds, Button calls, SB calls, BB checks.

Flop: T/images/graemlins/heart.gif K/images/graemlins/diamond.gif A/images/graemlins/heart.gif ($0, 5 players)
SB checks, BB bets $2.5, Hero calls, MP2 raises $7, Button calls, SB folds, BB raises all-in $35.62, Hero ??

Gut says you will be shown QJ here. If that is the case you have around 30% equity in this pot, so question is how much you discount the possibility of QJ and how many of the other players you figure will join the party.

I usually just stack off here ... but that may be dumb even though it does not seem like that big a mistake.

Up vs AK or AT here a lot, maybe a heavy heart draw. I don't see how you fold this.

I think you have to get it in here. There are enough people that you aren't worried about that you probably are getting the right price just to draw to a boat if you are up against QJ. The worst case is if you are up against QJ and AK, but that's unlikely because AK raises preflop. Pray that button comes along to give you good overlay.

Thank you for the comments, seems pretty unanimous on the big decision. How about pre-flop? UTG I definitely raise JJ, mostly limp with 99, what about TT?

And the flop first time around?

According to the Tien manifesto (stickied somewhere), raise all pocket pairs from any position. I've been doing this religiously.

I'm assuming Tien is referring to 6-max. Raising all pocket pairs first in from any position in full ring is mucho -EV.

I don't mind getting it all in here. Even if he has the straight and a flush draw, we have outs to the boat.

If you flop a set of 2's in a raised pot, you have a better chance to win an opponent's stack then if you flop a set of 2's in a limp pot. It doesn't have to be a big raise, maybe just 2x or 2.5x the BB.

There's a lot of overlay here. We see QJ here often, but we see other stuff that we are ahead of often enough to call.
