You played it hard and fast on the flop, which while it will be a profitable play, it may not always be the MOST profitable. Its certainly a safe option given the 2 clubs, and I dont think you did too much wrong here.

[/ QUOTE ]are you suggesting that I just flat call his raise?

Im saying its a possibility depending on the history you have with the opponent.

You knew the opponent and got the $$$$$ in the middle with middle set. So, yes, you played it correctly.

Getting it all in on the flop with any set is hardly ever going to be wrong. NH.

You played it well.

Getting a villain to pay you off with TP when you have a set the best.

*grunch*

I think you played it perfectly. Maybe your first raise can be a bit bigger on the flop (to make sure he draws unprofitable if he has two clubs.)

I think I like his play also. It isn't that good if he knew exactly that you had a set (then he needs to flat call this flop of course), but you could easily have a strong ace here, or something like pocket kings, so he raises. You raise 6 in a pot of 10, which is nice if you think you have 13 outs. He pushes to see both cards (having to call a turn for 8 isn't that nice I think), for 50% equity and some fold equity. This is assuming you don't have a set though.
