Hey, does anyone here know how to simply this equation to find y´?

y= (x^4 + 6x^4 + x^-1)(x - x^-3)

Product Rule or multiply it out and differentiate term by term. Do your own homework.

As the other reply said... just apply the standard rules and it'll all work out. You will, however find it slightly easier if you multiply by x^3 / x^3 before you start.
