I would rather bet pot on river than c/c, cause some worse hands that might check behind will call u.

Agreed. Pot the river. Not sure whether you can fold to a shove at this level.

I dunno if this is 6max or short handed FR table, but nevertheless it's 5handed -raise it up PF and cbet flop if you only get 1 or 2 callers? You'll be making bigger pots this way and winning more often. If you do get any callers on the flop you can push the turn =)

I don't understand this line of thinking.

If I pot this river, what is he calling with that I have beat?
If I pot this river and he raises, can I call?

Not saying that it's not the right play, just hoping you can explain why you think it's better.

If you pot the river, villian could call with a 9 or any two pair combo is possible since he was in BB. Against his possible range, which is quite large, times you are ahead you want to maximize expectation and bet out. If you check, the only way you make money is if he bets with a worse hand than you; however, if you bet, you can win if he calls with worse hands than you.

How bad would it be to overbet the pot on the turn?

Bet .40 on the turn too much? I bet draws won't fold at this level.

That's perfect thanks for clearing things up.

I see the logic now, I just have a hard time believing anyone would play a 9/two pair that way; I suppose you never know at this level.

If I had bet this, and he pushed, I can't call right?

Ewww I hate bet/calling river.
If villian is one that could raise without the flush/straight here then he's not going to check behind here anyways.

Sometimes I think that a lot of members of uNL let themselves make costly mistakes on the chance that they might induce a small mistake from villian some of the time.

If villian is very likely to bluff/raise without the straight then I like bet/call.

If villian is somewhat likely to bluffraise or we aren't sure I like the check/call.

If villian never will bluffraise but will call more hands than he will bet then bet/fold is best.

basically, you are ahead on the river more often than not. raise for value.
