What is the Latest News on the UK Gambling Act

Does anyone of latest news or information on the UK Gambling Act? I was hoping to find out if there are have been any poker sites setup within the guidelines of the act. Would it be possible to play from the US by re-directing your ip address to some sort of proxy server?

The (new) UK gambling act isn't in force yet - I say 'new' because there was one in 2005 but the one that pertains to online poker is the 2007 gambling act.

Quoting from the FAQ section of the UK gambling commission website (http://www.gamblingcommission.gov.uk/):

"From January 2007 the Commission will be accepting applications for such operator licences to permit on line casinos to be based in Britain from September 2007."
